Haunted-swamp co-op fishing
Voodoo Fishin'
Rod, reel, bait — then something with too many legs finds you.

Voodoo Fishin' first hour: what to do after the tutorial
Spawn to first upgrade: the loop the tutorial never explains, and two costly mistakes.
Read →How to cast further in Voodoo Fishin'
Casting is mouse physics, not a charge bar. Timing fixes most of it; the rod tier fixes the rest.
Read →Making money in Voodoo Fishin'
Where early dollars come from, which purchases are traps, and how to stop dying with a full cooler.
Read →Voodoo Fishin' fish list
Eighteen species, the names players use, and why completionism is about variants.

Read →Voodoo Fishin' is a one-to-six player online co-op fishing game set in a haunted Louisiana-style swamp, made by the three-person studio Lost Arcade. It left Early Access on October 13, 2026. You play a puppet angler: rig a rod, reel and bait, cast into dark water, fight what bites, haul it to the dock and sell it by the pound. Then something in the reeds carries you off — with your cooler.
That split is the whole design. One half is cozy: string lights, tea with Lil' Lucile, a cooler full of catfish. The other hunts back — a Shroud that hears you, skeeters in groups, a thing with too many legs.
Before your first cast
| What to do | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Take Jonah Swol's tutorial mission | It hands over a better rod; the starter's cast distance is short by design |
| Cast with the middle mouse button: hold, flick, release as you flick | The release timing is the cast |
| Match your reel to the depth before blaming the bait | Top, Pelagic and Bottom are separate layers; the wrong reel cannot hook your target |
| Read the Journal on the bookshelf by the outhouses (E) | Rarity, records, depth, bait tags and habitat icons |
| Sell early and skip premium bait until your rod can fight | Rod tier raises cast range and fight power, so it compounds |
Where to go next
Just out of the tutorial? Read the first hour guide. Bait always landing at your feet? That is casting — timing or rod tier. Chasing one fish? Start with the journal and the habitat tags: "the swamp is empty" usually means the wrong depth, tag, or water your crew already fished out.
For crews, the Dock Quota page covers the shared meter behind bigger coolers and the teamwork tools, and co-op and voice covers proximity chat. At night the swamp gets loud: the monsters page lists each threat and its counter.
Every number and mechanic here comes from the Steam store page, Lost Arcade's announcements, the developers' own Steam guides, or player-verified forum reports.
